I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and I have a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling earning the credential of Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) in the United States. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) making me qualified to provide trauma counseling.
My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized, mental health care. I treat a number of mental health disorders and provide a neutral ground to individuals.
My focus is to help individuals heal from past trauma, reenergize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I use an eclectic mix of Psychodynamic, Client-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness-Based, and Narrative therapy approach to counseling clients. I also use a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and EMDR to name a few.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and get you back on the path to becoming the best version of yourself.
Counseling is another way of helping individuals to solve their emotional, social, interpersonal and personal problems through talk therapy.
Counselors are not advisors or coaches but provide individuals with a better insight into the situation(s) past or present that are hindering them from progressing forward in their lives.
Counselors are like flashlights in a cave (the mind) shining light where it is the darkest, where it may not have been noticed, but may need to be focused on for positive change.
First and foremost, counseling helps you to improve your mental health!
When you feel unwell you go to your physician, if you want help processing past trauma then you see a counselor.
Simply put counseling helps you surpass trauma, emotional and behavioral blockages so that your stress is reduced.
In counseling you will learn:
I am trained to treat Clients of all ages. However, I believe treating children under the age of 12 online is not always therapeutic for them. Hence, I treat Clients 12 years of age and up! If you have access to Wi-Fi and a quiet safe place for sessions, then you can have online sessions.
So why not counseling, come in and see me today!
